Al Gore is a Turd
Like most rich people, it turns out that Al Gore does not live a very green lifestyle. Which boils down to one of chief complaints with a lot of Democratic politicians: The do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do hypocrisy.
True, a lot of Republican politicians indulge in environmentally unfriendly lives as well, but then again, in most cases they don’t profess to, let along make a movie exalting such activities & promoting themselves as such. As Malcom X said, “I have more respect for a man who lets me know where stands — even if he’s wrong — than one who comes up smelling like an angel and is nothing but a devil.”

So, this article strikes me as more of a lame attempt at a hatchet job than anything else. Gore has never advocated living in a small house, and while he could be paying extra for alternative energy, it is arguably better to buy carbon based energy and then buying carbon credits, than using alternative energy sources. As for who pays for the tax credits for his jet-set promotion tour… doesn’t really matter whether it’s him or his publisher. In the end it comes out of his pocket.
The better question would be: how long has he been living this lifestyle, but that’d require real investigative journalism. ;-)

Good to see content match showing relevant ads on this page…I will definitely go and check out the Gore Hotel in London next month ;)
I guess its better than this ebay listing, which comes up on yahoo search.

Are you doing anything to be more green? That’s the question we should ask, regardless of what Al Gore does.

In general, I tend to live close to my place of employment. (Right now is an exception, as my office moved and I haven’t caught up yet.)
I also drive a Jeep, which when taking into account the total life of a vechicle, is one of the more efficent vechiles out there:

Then again, I’m didn’t make a global warming documentary either. :-)

it’s true. bill tends to move to new cities when ever he changes jobs. he did just get a giant tv, not because it’s a big ass tv, but it blocks out the sun light and keeps his apartment cool. he also recycles his coke cans by thoughtfully leaving it on other peoples desk. i can tell it’s his because of the tab pushed to the side. it’s been sitting on my desk for the last 3 weeks keeping me company and gentling reminding me to reflect on my personal impact to my work space. bill also rearranges my push pins as an example of the chaotic nature of life.

Grist magazine says that the charges Schweitzer levels against Gore are false:
