PDF Bookmarks

Hola Amigos. In words of the immortal Jim Anchower, I know it’s been a long time since I rapped at ya, but things have been kinda hectic around El Casa de Bill.

I know what you’ve been wondering: I wonder what Bill’s wondering about right now. Well, my friends, I bring an end to your wonderment:

Why the hell can’t I create bookmarks in PDFs? When reading a PDF that’s more than a few pages (say, an ebook), it’s a PITA to have to remember where I left off & scroll there when I resume. In fact, why don’t PDFs automatically jump to where they were at when the document was closed?

Well, in Adobe Reader 6.0 Edit -> Preferences -> Startup

Then where is says: Reopen Documents to Last Viewed Page:

    choose All Files.

    Works for me. :-)

I found it in the PC version of Adobe Reader, but on the Mac (and nothing in Mac’s “Preview” app either).

Damn it, I was about to be happy.
