In-N-Out vs. White Castle
Interesting note over at Josh’s 106 Miles to Chicago on which is better White Castle vs. In-N-Out…
Now, we all know where the Beastie Boys stand (”I dig White Castle ‘cuz it’s the best, but I’m fly at Fatburger when I’m way out west.”), but I’ll wait to see where Craig weighs in on it.

Admittedly, I haven’t been to a White Castle in years and it was only once or twice. But I think that’s enough to know: In-N-Out kicks WC’s butt.

Ahhh. I have been to both recently. I personally don’t believe that they can be compared. Period. They stand on their own in different ways. I LOVE them both. But I think I have more passion for WC because it eludes me, living in CA. I can go to In-N-Out anytime. Both great in their own way. Oh but WC fries KILL INO fries. Bottom line they are too differnt to compare. Fatburger by the way is awesome and their skinny fries are better than both WC and INO.

um… in-and-out definitely wins. now, for me, it could be that the main white castle i’ve been to was a crazy ghetto in and out by the brown line in south chicago. (if you’ve never been there, just imagine a place where an above-ground subway runs down the middle of a freeway, and gang shootings happen on a fairly regular basis - i.e., every month or two.) so that may horribly color my opinion, since i’m never afraid of getting jacked in westwood ;)
but even so, i think the food at in and out is way better than white castle… beef should not have steamed buns… only dim sum should have that.
