Sometimes I Impress Myself

Thursday, March 10th, 2005

One of my friends has a 30th birthday party this weekend. Over dinner with a few folks last weekend, the topic of what to serve at the party came up. Food at all? Just light appetizers? What?

I don’t know which I’m more pleased with — the fact that we convinced her to have full-fledged dinner (after all, the timing of the event suggested there’d be food) or that we convinced her to have Kentucky Fried Chicken.

That’s right, KFC.

Buckets of KFC.

I was particularly touched in being asked to come early to help secure the massive quantities of chicken required.

Can you imagine how this’ll go down? We’ll just show up at every KFC in a 2 mile radius and buy ALL their chicken. All of it. To go. In buckets. Latter, lounging like sheiks, drinking fine wine, discussing the matters of the day… and our fingers greasy as we gourge on chicken.

Man, it’s going to suck if you’re in line behind us.

Your Dominant Intelligence is Logical-Mathematical Intelligence

You are great at finding patterns and relationships between things.
Always curious about how things work, you love to set up experiments.
You need for the world to make sense – and are good at making sense of it.
You have a head for numbers and math … and you can solve almost any logic puzzle.

You would make a great scientist, engineer, computer programmer, researcher, accountant, or mathematician.

Happy Birthday, Yahoo!

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005

Today marks the 10th anniverary of Yahoo! I’m usually not one to drink the kool-aid, but in the short three & half years I’ve been here, overall, it’s been a lot of fun. I started our in My Yahoo!, moved over to Yahoo! Premium Services, and finally, to my current home in Content Match.

Of course, there’s free ice cream, but I like the netrospective.
