Blog Spam
Following the lead of Jeremy and my two favorite rabbits, I’ve tweaked Moveable Type in an effort to fight the flood of blog spam. I installed MT-Blacklist a while back, but grew tired of all manual work involved in keeping the various blogs here spam free.
Having poked around MT, interesting internals.
And damn, I need to find a better way to use gtags.

i was getting 800 a day, but i did two things that stopped all comment spam immediately: (1) renamed the file that posted comments, (2) denied access to gamehaus dot net to entire ranges of ip’s, most of them allocated to chinese companies. that worked like a charm.

Do you get any spam at all now? The Chicago thing is working amazingly well. *Zero* spam since that.
