Back from the Dead
Sunday, July 20th, 2003So after a long hiatus, thanks to the FBI, wdr1.com is back. This site, and several others , are hosted on the same physical box, owned by my brother, Jim. It seems on his services is a redirection service and one of his users was redirecting to something the FBI didn’t like. (What we don’t know.)
Since the service works via frames (showing an ad in one frame, the site content in another, and leaving *.ohgo.com in the Location bar), the FBI naturally thought whatever it was was hosted on that server. And took it. Without warning. Without contacting us. Heck, without viewing source and seeing *NOTHING* was hosted on that box.
Anyway, after severals day and much to do, most of the data is back on this server. Ever since I first started squirling away most of data on the server, I stopped worrying about losing any data on any of my (desk|lap)tops. At this this whole rigmarole pointed that that lesson, albiet a fairly hard way.
